Ladies and gentlemen, THRAX PUNKS

THRAX PANKS is a band originating from Evros, prefecture of Thrace. The project began to form in 2006 with a purely traditional style, while over the years it began to experiment and incorporate modern aesthetics and styles from various musical genres around the world, according to the listening habits of each member. With appearances at local events, customs and weddings, to small festivals throughout Greece, with core members, Vaitsi Harakopidis in Gaida-Kaval and Giorgos Stavridis in Daouli-Lyra, until 2010, where they made their first concert appearance at a festival as THRAX PANKS.

In 2015, with the arrival of Panos on electric bass guitar, the band’s sound acquired a particularly electric character, with live looping, psychedelic passages, heavy guitars, math outbursts and a punk aesthetic. To date, they have participated in the majority of the largest domestic festivals, as well as in concerts abroad, in England, Germany and Cyprus. In 2016, they released their first EP entitled PANKOPANIGYROPSYCHEDELIYA, while in 2019 they presented their first full-length album (LP) Thrax Punks with Markos Koutsianas taking over the sound editing, following them to this day on their journey, with sold out appearances throughout Greece.

In the spring of 2021, they composed original music for the ancient tragedy “Bacchae” directed by Nikaitis Kontouris, which toured throughout Greece and Cyprus in the summer of the same year. The band accompanied the performance live in Epidaurus, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and in Cyprus at the Nicosia Municipal Theater. In the summer of 2024, they released their second album “Thrax Punks 2” and a series of concerts followed in Greece and Europe while working on new material for their next work.

After a very hot 2025 with concerts in Greece and Europe, celebrating ten years of “Punkfetepartypsychedelia” , but also a four-month break to work on their new album, they are preparing for a summer full of surprises. The bagpipes, drums and guitars are ready to catch fire and the two-headed gatzos does not hold back from plowing mountains, islands and seas, while at the same time opening a new cycle with new sounds and new songs, but with the mysticism remaining at the same and higher levels. Get ready to dance, empathize and let yourself be carried away by the Dionysian rhythm of Thrax Punk and let them lead you to secret musical paths that only they know!
