Wolf is a Swedish heavy metal band formed in 1995 in Örebro. Initially, they were called “Wolverine,” but shortly before their first official recordings, they changed their name to Wolf. The band’s founder, vocalist, and guitarist is Niklas Stålvind, who took over vocal duties when an external vocalist could not be found, thus shaping their distinctive sound.

Their debut album, titled Wolf, was released in 2000 and established the band on the international metal scene. Their music is heavily influenced by classic heavy and speed metal of the ’80s, featuring powerful riffs, intense rhythm, and distinctive vocals. Subsequently, they released albums such as Black Wings, Evil Star, The Black Flame, Ravenous, Legions of Bastards, Devil Seed, Feeding the Machine, and Shadowland, confirming their position as one of the most consistent and authentic bands of the “old-school” metal scene.

Wolf remain active to this day, continuing to record and tour while keeping alive the pure, traditional metal sound that has defined them since the beginning of their career.
